HOTD

Sometimes it takes a three-street bluff to take down a pot.

I liked this hand because it was so easy for me to represent a monster, and I felt confident my opponent couldn't call without the nuts. He was in the big blind, and he seemed weak.

I wonder what he had?

5/10
Dealt to smizmiatch [6h 6d]
smizmiatch raises to $35
BB calls $25
*** FLOP *** [4c Kd Ad]
BB checks
smizmiatch bets $60
BB calls $60
*** TURN *** [4c Kd Ad] [9c]
BB bets $110
smizmiatch raises to $330
BB calls $220
*** RIVER *** [4c Kd Ad 9c] [Qh]
BB checks
smizmiatch bets $602, and is all in
Gensuru folds
smizmiatch wins the pot ($852)

Ballsy betting, man. Not sure how he folds for that little amount more after calling off all those chips on the way to the river. Nice hand.

I am the villain in that hand gensuru. The first thing I wanna say is that it was a nice play and nice bluff. But its reasoning is completely wrong. You say the villain seems weak but you havent seen me in any other table, you cant possibly have any stats on me and I know anybody who does wouldnt think I'm weak. You were just playing that hand to bluff me out of the popt and I let you go just because it was my first hand against you. Now that I know that youre a regular ftp donk aggressive player I will adjust dont worry. I had ATc with which you wouldve probably insta called that river all in.

Hi Gensuru,
Thanks for commenting, but I'd like to defend my reasoning.
First, you say that I hadn't seen you at any other table. This is incorrect. I had seen you at 3 other tables beforehand: Playa Bonita, Wildroot and Shinnecock Hills.
Secondly, I did have stats on you. In fact, I had been gathering stats on you for 28 minutes at that table before making this bluff, according to PokerTracker. These stats show over 107 hands that you are very tight (11 VPIP) and capable of folding (10 WSD).
When I wrote that you were weak, I meant in this particular hand. You called preflop, called on the flop, bet and called on the turn, and then checked and folded the river. There was no way you had a hand that beat AA, KK or AK, which is what I was representing.

Seriously, though, the real problem is calling a pf raise with a marginal hand, albeit suited, from the big blind. You make TP, but how good is your hand?
You call a hand like that, you're going to have to play it for stacks, or get out of the way early, IMO.

Hello Gnome.

Had a few questions regarding Pokertracker that I'd like to have your help with. Please can you email me at damian.kowalski at gmail dot com (as I'm not sure how to get your email address).

Thanks very much...
